Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway is a symbol of friendship between Serbia and China

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlović, talked today with the President of the Chinese company China Railway International Company (CRIC), Yu Guodjeng, about the realization of the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway project - August 17, 2020 At the meeting, which was also attended by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Serbia, Chen Bo, Mihajlovic pointed out that the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway is strategically the most important project for our country and that all projects implemented by Serbia and China are a symbol of friendship and good relations. The line ministry manages projects worth €15 billion, of which projects with China are worth €7 billion, she pointed out. According to her, the friendship between the presidents of the two countries speaks in favour of such high Chinese investments and represents a great responsibility for all projects to be carried out according to the agreed quality and dynamics. The construction of this high-speed railway is our most important project and I expect everything to be done within the set deadlines. We are happy that we will travel from Belgrade to Novi Sad in less than half an hour next fall, Mihajlović said. The Deputy Prime Minister also pointed out the very successful and professional cooperation with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Serbia and representatives of all Chinese companies working in our country, stating that the Ministry, as before, will be there to provide necessary assistance and support. Yu Guodjeng expressed gratitude to Mihajlović for the continuous support that the Government of Serbia and the Ministry provide to the Chinese contractor all the time, with the belief that all works will be completed according to the agreed dynamics and European and world standards. He conveyed that he came to Serbia in order to be convinced of the dynamics and progress of the works on the ground, and in accordance with that, he pointed out that the dynamic plan is realistic and that the work will be completed within the agreed deadlines. In accordance with the needs and the current situation, we reorganize resources in the field - from labour, through equipment and machinery, to the preparation of materials. Our company has a huge experience and we want to transfer our knowledge and technology to Serbia as well, Guodjeng said. Mihajlovic gave her interlocutor the alphabet in gold embroidery, the work of women who make traditional handicrafts as part of the Serbian cultural heritage within the initiative of the Coordination Body for Gender Equality, Ethno-Network and NALED "Let's Employ 1,000 Women in Rural Areas".
