France

France is a country in Western Europe. The Mediterranean Sea coastline is known as the Côte d’Azur or French Riviera and is around 885 km long. The top seaport on the coastline is the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille. The Port of Marseille Fos is a multipurpose, multi-channel port with infrastructure to handle all types of traffic. Thanks to its geostrategic positioning, at the heart of the Euro-Mediterranean area, and its quadrimodality (road, rail, river and pipelines), it is positioned as one of Europe’s southern gateways. West of Marseille is the Port of Sète, and east of Marseille are a number of smaller ports focussed on tourism and yachting.
