Civitavecchia
Civitavecchia a city on the Tyrrhenian Sea in West central Italy and is the main port for capital city Rome. The Port of Civitavecchia is a multifunctional port and is divided into two macro-areas dedicated to different market areas: the southern area is dedicated to tourism, pleasure craft and cruise activities and hosts the cruise terminal, and the Darsena Romana, currently dedicated to fishing activities; and the northern area is intended for commercial traffic activities (freight traffic and logistics system), fishing and cabotage (Motorways of the Sea). There is a container terminal, general cargo docks for bulk cargo, a Ro-Ro dock and car terminal. It is managed by Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Centro-Settentrionale (AdSP – Centre-North Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority) which also looks after the ports of Gaeta and Fiumicino.
