Ferrol

The port of Ferrol is located in Northwest Spain. Ferrol is located on the maritime routes connecting Northern Europe to other continents and has excellent connections with the Iberian Peninsula and Europe’s road and rail network. Its outer harbour is one of the largest on the Iberian Peninsula with a 1500-metre quay and its multi-purpose inner harbour spans 1450 metres. The Port of San Cibrao is a terminal which specialises in dry bulk and is used by the multinational Alcoa. The port is operated by Autoridad Portuaria de Ferrol-San Cibrao (APF – Port Authority of Ferrol). State ports are managed by Puertos del Estado which executes port policy of the government; made up of 28 port authorities that manage the 46 ports.
