Fiumicino

Located by the Tyrrhenian coast. Fiumicino borders the municipalities of Anguillara Sabazia, Cerveteri, Ladispoli and Rome. It is on the northern side of the mouth of the river Tiber, next to Ostia. It is the location of the Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport.

Since 2002, the canal port of Fiumicino has been part of Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Centro-Settentrionale (AdSP – Centre-North Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority). In addition to fishing, the other activity characterizing the port of Fiumicino is the traffic of petroleum products, with the presence of oil towers which develop a total traffic of approximately 3.5 million tonnes of refined products per year.
