Yuzhny (Yuzhni, Pivdenni, Pivdenny, South)

Yuzhny, also known as Pivdenni, Pivdenny & South, is a port city in Odessa region of Ukraine and located on the country’s Black Sea coast. When Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, all the country’s Black Sea ports, including Yuzhny, were blockaded by Russian naval forces, and effectively ceased operations. This changed on July 22, 2022, when grain export by ships was made possible after an agreement reached in Istanbul between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the United Nations to unblock Ukraine’s Black Sea ports.
