CASCA+
CASCA+ is a multimodal transport corridor designed to connect Central Asia, the South Caucasus, Anatolia (Turkey), and eventually Southeast Asia with Europe. The initiative brings together the state railway administrations of six countries: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. The “+” in the name reflects the corridor’s openness to additional participants interested in joining the project.
The main goal of CASCA+ is to boost trade and logistics by enabling efficient movement of goods through road, sea, rail, and air routes across these regions. The corridor plays a crucial role in improving the transportation infrastructure, with a focus on container shipments, including refrigerated goods like fruits and vegetables. It has facilitated the movement of tens of thousands of containers, helping to shorten delivery times between countries like China and Turkey.
