DP World & Evyap Group merge to create new trade hub, Turkey

Istanbul, Turkey (Ports Europe) July 19, 2024 – DP World and Evyap Group have merged port assets in the Sea of Marmara to create a new international logistics hub. Approval from the Turkish Competition Authority is required.

DP World acquired a 58% stake in Evyapport and the Evyap Group a 42% stake in DP World Yarımca. The merged entity is called DP World Evyap. The ports are named ‘DP World Evyap Yarımca’ and ‘DP World Evyap Körfez’.

The merger creates a combined berthing area of 2088 metres, allowing more than one ultra-large container vessel to berth simultaneously at both terminals. Total annual container handling capacity will exceed 2 million TEUs, and the integrated operation will be expanded to include project and heavy-lift cargo services.

Evyapport

The port operates in Kocaeli province İzmit Gulf with a Container Terminal, Tank Terminal and Project & General Cargo Terminal in a total area of ​​265,000 m². It can allow super post panamax ships to berth with its 1,171-meter berth and minimum water depth of 18.5 meters, meets the needs of the developing regional industry with its annual 855,000 TEU container, 1,120,000 tons of liquid cargo, 500,000 tons of general cargo handling capacity, rich equipment park and experienced human resources.

DP World is as global logistics company. Its business includes port terminal management.
