Tartus, Syria (Ports Europe) January 19, 2025 – It is widely reported that the Syrian Mediterranean port of Tartus is now open to commercial traffic. However, Russian military ships are not allowed to enter the port.
There have been reports that two Russian vessels have been circling offshore in the hope of retrieving military supplies.
In a related issue, the Al Araby news source reported a ban on imports of goods from Russia, Iran and Israel from the Syrian Finance Ministry.
