TIL proposes to invest €1,011 million to build and operate entire container terminal of Valencia port

Valencia, Spain (PortSEurope) May 30, 2019 - Terminal Investment Limited (TIL) has submitted a bid for the construction and operation of the new terminal of the northern extension of the Port of Valencia - an investment €1,011,420,000. The bid concerns the administrative concession of what will be the fourth container terminal of the Valencian port. The TIL proposal foresees the realisation and management of the entire terminal of the northern extension of the Port of Valencia with the following investment schedule: €221.77 million for the year 2022; €183.11 million for 2023; €390.53 million for 2024, €124.4 million for 2025 and €91.6 million for 2026. TIL proposes work in three phases. The first phase, lasting 28 months, will develop a terminal area of 860,000 m², a water surface incorporated into the 71,500 m² concession and a 1,100-metre berthing line. Nine months later the second phase will conclude, in which an additional 220,000 m² of terminal area and 400 metres of berthing line will be added. The third phase will be completed 11 months after concluding the second stage; thus enabling 280,000 m² of terminal and another 470 metres of dock line. The surfaces of the entire concession requested by TIL contemplate 1,360,000 m² of terminal, 128,050 m² of water surface and 1,970 metres of berthing line for ships. The term for the commissioning of the first phase of the terminal has been scheduled at 36 months, the second 45 months and the third, 54 months; terms that will start from the date of the beginning of the concession. From now on, the Technical Commission of the PAV / Puertos del Estado will study, analyze and evaluate the proposal proposed by TIL. This Commission is formed by Carmen García Vilar, Head of Public Domain of the Port Authority of Valencia; by Ramón Gómez-Ferrer Boldova, Head of Strategy and Innovation of the Port Authority of Valencia and by Leandro Melgar Casillas, Director of Exploitation of Ports of the State.
