Ukraine implements comprehensive preventive and anti-epidemic measures to prevent COVID-2019

Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) - March 16, 2020 The World Health Organization (WHO) has determined that a coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) is a pandemic in the world. Ukraine has recorded already five cases coronavirus infection. To prevent infection entering coronavirus COVID-2019 in all ports of Ukraine, USPA implements: the monitoring system was established and responsible persons were identified in the branches of the AMPU; operational alert plans were introduced for the identification of patients;Organized interaction with representatives of the MoH Laboratory Center and the State Consumer Service, control services, ship captains and economic entities to control vehicles and persons arriving at ports from abroad;The quarantine berths and anchorages for quarantine of ships are ready;Provision is made for the temporary isolation of sick persons (from foreign vessels) before their hospitalization; disposal of foreign garbage (waste) from foreign vessels and disposal, or transfer to appropriate specialized organizations for safe handling after disinfection on board; there is a supply of disinfectants for current disinfection at port facilities; provided personnel, first of all, pilotage service (the first to come into contact with crews of foreign ships), ships of the port fleet, port staff at checkpoints, dock-mechanics with personal protective equipment (protective bandages, goggles, rubber gloves and hand hygiene); the list of measures to reduce the risk of spreading infectious diseases among the staff of SE "AMPU" is being introduced and constantly updated; wet cleaning is carried out in places of mass finding of people (passageways of ports and terminals, dining rooms, household premises, etc.) with the use of disinfectants; received information from State Institution “Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” and State Enterprise “State Consumer Service” and disseminated information on actions to prevent cases of diseases caused by coronavirus 2019-nCoV in the territory of Ukraine . the work of the commissions on emergency situations in the seaports of Ukraine, to which the staff of the control services are involved. Temporary Interagency Instruction on Interaction of Port Services with the Epidemiological Services of the Ministry of Health, Territorial Divisions of the State Consumer Service of Ukraine, Border Service and Maritime Administration at the points of passage for maritime connection at seaports has been worked out.Changes were made to the information system of the port community (hereinafter referred to as the ISPS) to ensure simultaneous (parallel) entry of marks in the ISPS, both by representatives of the State Institution of the State Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and by representatives of the State Customs Service at the processing of the vessel; training was conducted with officials of SE “AMPU” and economic entities to prevent Covid-19 coronary virus infection from seaports of Ukraine; training was carried out with officials of USPA, control services in case of detection of Covid-19 coronary virus infection in seaports of Ukraine.
