Valencia, Spain (Ports Europe) January 9, 2024 – The Port Authority of Valencia (APV) and Valencia Terminal Europe (VTE) have signed an agreement for the installation, operation and maintenance of the solar infrastructure under construction on the roof of the vehicle silo located in the VTE concession in the East Dam. VTE is part of the Grimaldi Group.

A joint venture of Lantania SAU and Tecmo Instalaciones has already started construction.

The investment by APV is valued at over 16 million euros. The Next Generation funds of the European Union and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain are financing the project.

After the meeting, Crespo pointed out that “this project is part of a joint strategy between the PAV and the Grimaldi Group to advance the decarbonization process and achieve the Zero Emissions Objective in the Valencian docks.”

APV President, Mar Chao, commented: “With the generation of approximately 11% of the electricity that the port requires for its operation, the implementation of this infrastructure will mean consolidating the commitment to climate neutrality of the port’s activity.”
